Meet Dr. Elda Aghaian, MD
Dr. Elda Aghaian is a board-certified ophthalmologist providing comprehensive eye care for adults. Her expertise spans the full spectrum of ophthalmology, including cataract management, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and ocular surface conditions. She combines her academic training, clinical precision, and compassionate approach to deliver personalized care that prioritizes both vision and overall eye health.
Dr. Aghaian’s passion for ophthalmology is deeply personal. Several of her own family members have been affected by degenerative eye diseases, giving her a profound understanding of the impact vision loss can have on one’s quality of life. This perspective has shaped her philosophy of care — one grounded in empathy, education, and partnership with her patients.
A Southern California native, Dr. Aghaian graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a degree in Business-Economics, ranking among the top 15 students in her major. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, where she was awarded the Dean’s Research Fellowship for her work on viral axonal transport, later published in the Journal of Virology.
